Facebook is not a website. Here is what you are missing.

By Zachary Burns · October 6, 2026

Plenty of good local businesses run on a Facebook page alone. It is free, it is easy, and your regulars know where to find it. The problem is the customers who do not know you yet.

What a new customer runs into

A stranger searching Google rarely lands on a Facebook page. If they do, they hit a login prompt, a feed of old posts, and hours buried somewhere in the About tab.

  • Your hours are in a pinned post nobody scrolls to.
  • Your services are spread across years of posts.
  • There is no single page that says what you do, where, and how to call.

What Google sees

Google ranks websites. A Facebook page gives it very little to work with: no service pages, no clear location, no structure. A simple website with one page per service tells Google exactly what you do and where you do it.

Keep Facebook. Add a real site.

You do not have to choose. Keep posting on Facebook. Link it to a real website that loads fast on a phone and has your number at the top of every page. Facebook keeps your regulars close. The website catches everyone else.
